ANDERSON, S.C. --
Ben Rowe snapped a winless streak that had lasted nearly 18 months on Saturday night at Anderson Motor Speedway after he pulled his No. 4 Richard Moody Racing Toyota into victory lane in the Peach Blossom Special 125 PASS National Championship event.

The three-time PASS National champ held on during a final three-lap run to the finish after a caution flag and fended off Zane Smith, who finished on the outside of Rowe as to two ran to the checkered flag. Rowe first took the lead on lap 79 after the first caution flag of the event.

“It was a cat-and-mouse the whole race and on the restart I got out in front,” Rowe stated in victory lane according to a press release issued by the Pro All Stars Series. “I was just trying to keep (Smith) two-or-three car lengths behind. It took me by surprise when he got up on the outside, but it’s tough. These kids are pretty fun to race with and coming to the checkers like that was pretty cool.”

The Turner, Maine driver’s team battled back after they sustained motor issues during Friday’s practice sessions.

“We stayed here until 8:30 last night working on a skip we had in the engine,” Rowe said. “I can’t think my guys enough.”

Smith, of Mooresville, N.C., battled Rowe hard over the final three laps, but came up short in the second spot. Jared Fryar of Trinity, N.C., finished third while Lee Hansard and Tate Fogleman completed the top-five finishers.

Berwick, Maine driver Joey Doiron piloted his Dicky Woodman-owned car to a sixth place finish, while Lucas Jones, Jared Irvan, Matt Crag, and Jimmy Doyle finished seventh through tenth, respectively.

Quebec driver Eric St. Gelais finished 11th as the final car on the lead lap, while reigning PASS AIM Recycling Super Late Model champion D.J. Shaw finished in the 16th position, but 20 laps down.

The PASS National Series will see its second race of the season on Saturday, April 4 with the Easter Bunny 150 at the famed Hickory Motor Speedway.
