The Thermal Control Products “Turn Up The Heat” Award recognizes drivers who have stood out at area short tracks with a big victory or a breakthrough performance. Six drivers will be featured each week, with two finalists entered into a monthly vote for the grand prize from Thermal Control Products. Each of the two weekly finalists will receive a prize package from Thermal Control Products.

Two finalists will be placed in the monthly pool for September and will each be awarded a Thermal Control Products Flex Fit baseball cap and a roll of aluminized line sleeve. Each finalist will be entered in the random draw for the monthly grand prize: An exterior door protector and a roll of ZeroClearance thermal protection sheet -- a total value of more than $130.00.

Adam Pierson -- Clinched Bear Ridge Speedway DIRTcar Sportsman Modified championship
D.J. Shaw -- PASS National Championship 150 winner at White Mountain Motorsports Park
Ron Silk -- NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour winner at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Nick Sweet -- ACT Invitational runner-up at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Terry Williams -- Sportsman Coupe winner at Bear Ridge Speedway

And the Thermal Control Products “Turn Up The Heat” Award finalists for the week ending September 25:

D.J. ShawD.J. SHAW -- Center Conway, N.H.
No. 60 Precision JLM/Subway Chevrolet

D.J. Shaw’s weekend was interrupted on Thursday by a hard crash in practice for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, but the 21 year-old rebounded with his first victory in three years on Saturday in the Pro All Stars Series National Championship 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park. The win was redemption for Shaw, who lost the lead late in a 150-lap PASS race at White Mountain just two weeks earlier.

Nick SweetNICK SWEET -- Barre, Vt.
No. 40 Gary Clay Builders/Mansfield Heliflight Chevrolet

Nick Sweet may not have won the American-Canadian Tour Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, but he put on an entertaining battle with eventual winner Eddie MacDonald, leading twice in the final ten laps before finishing second. After winning in his own No. 88 Pontiac and in Rick Paya’s RPM Motorsports No. 57 Ford earlier this year, Sweet finished on the podium in Eric Chase’s Mad Dog Motorsports No. 40 Chevrolet.

D.J. Shaw and Nick Sweet will each be awarded a Thermal Control Products Flex Fit baseball cap and a roll of TCP aluminized line sleeve, and will be placed in the monthly pool for September.

Each finalist will be voted on by Vermont Motorsports Magazine staff for the monthly grand prize: An exterior door protector and a roll of ZeroClearance thermal protection sheet -- a total value of more than $130.00.

The Thermal Control Products “Turn Up The Heat” Award grand prize winner will be announced at www.vtmotormag.com on Monday, October 3.
