Sweet Plays Strategy to Labor Day Victory

BARRE -- Having the best strategy sometimes is better than having the best car. For Nick Sweet, the best strategy proved to be the best for him. Sweet pitted on lap 144, restarted 17th, and then charged through the field, and took the lead from then-leader Joey Polewarczyk on lap 187 to win the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl. BARRE -- Athletes inherently want to win every competition they’re in. That much is obvious. In virtually every sport, though, a handful of events are held in a higher regard that the rest: The Super Bowl, Wimbledon, The Masters.

Departed Champion Sweet Salutes Pembroke On Title Run

BARRE -- Nick Sweet was the ‘King of the Road’.
“I was,” Sweet said. “That’s key. I definitely did not deserve it this year.”
